Balanced TREC Riding on Epsom Downs

Welcome to Hugh and Debbie's home page.

On these pages, you can read analysis of developments on common land, rights of way and town and village greens with Hugh's PannageMan blog, the index to the PannageMan blogs, and see copies of applications to record common land and public right of way in East Kent and Hampshire made by Hugh, generally on behalf of the South and East Kent committee of the British Horse Society.

There is Debbie's artist's blog on her botanical and other artwork. And you can see pictures of Dexter, Debbie's 14.2hh cob/native breed, as well as our much-loved Ralph, who died in autumn 2023, and Marlowe and Foxy, who both died in winter 2004-05.

You can see Hugh's blog on riding on and in the area of Epsom and Walton Downs in north Surrey, and see the self-guided hack rides no.1 and no.2: the downs are one of Surrey's best kept riding secrets, over 20 km of riding trails and area access on the well-drained downland south of Epsom. You can also go back to the archived information about Riding on Epsom and Walton Downs.

Find out about the Balanced TREC run in North Surrey since 2005, and see reports and photos from the 2014 Mid Surrey BHS TREC, and also from the 2013 Barwell Court BHS TREC, the 2012 Swanworth Farm BHS TREC, and from the 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008 and 2006 St Ebba's TRECs, and the Balanced TREC 2005.
